Hi! I’m Mike Dissmore, the Pastor at THE ROCK. What impresses me most about this Church is its friendliness. There’s a lot of love here. I’m also impressed with the work ethic of our people. That means a lot to me because I’m kind of a “blue collar” guy myself. I’ve worked a “regular” job nearly my entire life. I also enjoy running and have finished 3 marathons. My wife, Lori, and I have 3 children. Our oldest, Josh, lives in Milwaukee and is a musician. Our other son, Jake, is a student at Cal State—Northridge in Los Angeles. Our daughter, Danielle, is a student at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in Hollywood.
My ministry is unusual because I come from the same perspective as you do. I believe my message is relevant for today and applies to real people going through the real challenges we all encounter. Runners like challenges, and pastoring is like running a marathon: Set goals, stay the course, and finish strong.
At THE ROCK, we’re not hung up on tradition. We are people just like you that are here to love you, and help you connect with God’s family. I know I’m biased, but I don’t think there’s anywhere else in the Janesville area where you’ll feel more loved than at THE ROCK. Children's Pastor
The Kidz Zone @ The Rock works as an extension of the mission of the church. Our goal is to creatively reach, teach, and connect kids with God. We use a variety of ways to accomplish this goal. Through music, games, drama, puppets, crafts, videos and other interactive media, the Bible comes alive to kids in a fun way as we learn a valuable lesson that can be applied to our lives today.
We have something for all ages here at The Kidz Zone. Toddlers will enjoy our play room and short Bible story and craft time during the adult service. Kids ages 4-12 get to experience an exciting, interactive lesson. We even have a small group times just for teens; a place where they can meet together and share freely. All this takes place each Sunday Morning while parents can enjoy our Adult Worship Experience at 10am. We also have several events throughout the year, including a kids retreat in the winter, camp in the summer, movie & video game nights, and more!
